I was born and raised in South Africa. My parents' jobs required a lot of travel, which allowed me to also live in Mexico, Guatemala and Panama. Being able to experience different lifestyles was the greatest gift I received from my childhood.   Life was simple yet exciting!

My personal character was built by living in different cultures and I learned quickly how to make the small things count. We had to be creative in everything we did.  I watched my mom set up home many times and each time she always made it feel cozy and comfortable. We didn’t have much but it always looked and felt amazing. I quickly realized that any house can feel like home if you “use what you have” correctly and use proper placement of your items. If you surround yourself with things you love and incorporate treasures you have collected over the years it gives any house incredible character.

My business was inspired after my husband and I remodeled 2 homes from the inside out. I was constantly being asked by friends and acquaintances if I could come and help them with their homes. I realized that I had a passion for Interior Design and I was extremely good at it. Most of all, I loved helping others make their HOUSE feel like a HOME. I received my certification in Interior Decorating and in 2003 Dec-renew started.

My passion has always been to take something that isn’t so beautiful and turn it into something fantastic. I’m challenged by making old things become new. I’m constantly looking for items that need a face lift. In my spare time I love to antique shop, estate sale and go to flea markets.

Many find hiring an Interior Decorator intimidating because they wonder if they can afford one. I wanted to change that mindset and give the average person the opportunity to have an Interior Decorator in their home to help them “get started” or to handle the whole job. No matter what size job my client has, I want to be able to consult with them and assist them in any way possible. My main passion is letting others know that making their home beautiful is achievable and doesn’t need to cost a fortune.

I keep up with current design and trends by attending classes, reading every design book possible, touring showrooms, show homes, tour of homes & by attending markets. I also teach Interior Decorating classes at North Central Texas College.
